Joe – The HTML editor

The HTML editor Joe comes from France and came into being by the project Queen Meka (program's author:  Pierre Tonthat alias Rajah Lone). The program itself is Postcardware, the RSC files of the multi-language versions on the other hand are Freeware.

After an English version had been released I set about the translation into German. Soon the RSCs were translatet and a German version on the homepage of the program's author available. An additional package followed, called Joe's Good Tricks, which I translated and published as well.

Up-to-date

The 1.48 version

Starting with version 1.48 Joe and Joe's Good Tricks are combined in one package.

News since version 1.47:

• Changes in the install (imposed folders) and in modules management (icon in Joe' shell window, Joe's exchange protocol changes, some unused modules are deprecated, the others are now part of the main archive)
• External tags menus (creation and customization with a RSC editor)
• Kurzels viewer (with help of BubbleGEM)
• Bugfixes (the "first kurzel" bug is corrected)
• Double click on a tag selects it. Double click plus Shift key pressed select the "group" tag.
• Keyboard overrun avoided (XBIOS(14) method, thanks to RGF)

The 1.47 version

The 1.47 version simply replaces the program file of the 1.46 package. News, changes und bugfixes compared with the 1.46 version:

• optimized memory management
• horizontal scroll bar
• alternate Accessory mode
• non-modal MagiC file selector (exception: Freedom2)
• several GEMScript commands
• Drag&Drop inserts at the current cursor position
• opening files even with closed window
• Kurzel expansion should work correctly now
• PageUp/-Down under MagiC PC
• some redraw problems fixed.

1.46 version

The 1.46 version supports among other:

• things "real" blockmarking
• the use of Kurzels including automatic expansion
• a contextual menu accessible via right mouse button click.

Innovations since version 1.42

• Kurzels including automatic expansion (qed)
• contextual menu accessible by right mouse button
• "real" block functions
• ST-Guide help system
• up to three external programs to be called
• saving of the windows' positions
• different file extensions to be chosen
• line end format to be chosen
• tag highlighting also in monochrome mode
• adaptation of the browser's color palette.

1.42 version

• Highlighting with colors of the tags
• automatic special characters conversion (e.g. German "Umlaute")
• Textmakros and Kurzels
• Contextual menu
• automatic indentation
• OLGA protocol for communication with CAB (automatic refresh at saving of the HTML source)
• DHST support (Document History)
• modules available in the package Joe's Good Tricks.

• TOS compatible system.

Optionally:

• HTML browser for display, if possible with OLGA support (e.g. CAB)
• ST-Guide for help system
• BubbleGEM
• qed- or Everest-like Kurzels file
• DHST server (SMU/MultiStrip).

Joe's Good Tricks

Joe's Good Tricks, now freeware, is a collection of tag generator modules for Joe (now included in the package) which run independently as well. The package consists of modules for the following tags:
