Groups

After the first MausTausch, the user can choose in his frontend which Groups he wants to read. At the next MausTausch, this information will then be evaluated by the MAUS which will send back alle new mails, that means those which came in the last few days, of the ordered Groups in the Outfile at the same time. Now you can easily read your mail with your frontend and write comments.

Generally, most of the Groups are read- and writeable, but some of them are read-only and others hidden. Beyond that there are Groups which are only restricted writeable like "Maus.Info.Atari.News", which the responsible Group master or SysOp has to give the user the rights to write there first. For that purpose you have to send a PM to the responsible person.

Many, but not at all all Groups are "connected", i.e. you can also read and in most cases write them via news servers on the Internet. Beside DejaNews, a newsgroup portal site, there is also a well-known public German news server: CIS DFN. Using the one last mentioned also allows users of Internet by Call providers to read news, at this you only have to register for free. A suitable news client for the Atari is, for example, the ASH Emailer which also allows the login with user name and password needed for authentification in its current version.
